What are affirmations? An affirmation is a statement that is intended to affect your thought processes and emotional responses. When you say a affirmation, it feels like a magic formula. No one can tell you what to say and no one can force you to act. However, if you are open to the possibilities, you can use an affirmation for positive change in your life.
In my years of counseling, I have had many people who have been victims of abuse or alcoholism
They often feel very alone and don’t know how to process their feelings. This is why they seek help when they are ready. For these individuals, an affirmation can be a lifesaver. “I will survive” or “I will love myself and others” are very powerful words that have great impact on the self.
o Affirmation means “I Will”, “I Can”, “I Can Do” or “I Will Have” – The word “I” can have an implication. If you are looking for affirmation for positive change in your life, you might say something like, “I am healthy and strong.” Affirmation means you will remain healthy, strong and healthy. Negative affirmation is saying that you will not remain healthy, strong and healthy.
o Affirmations have a negative connotation – The insidious definition of affirmation is that it has no positive intent. You cannot use them to attract good things into your life. A simple example is to say, “I am not afraid of heights.” This is an affirmation. However, if you are saying this, it implies that you will never be afraid of heights, you will say it because of fear and intimidation.

When I say, “I love myself unconditionally,” what does that really mean? That means that it can be interpreted as either: I love myself because I am wonderful and perfect, or “I love myself because I am beautiful.” Again, depending on the person saying it, the meaning can vary.

For someone to gain from their affirmation, it must have positive intent for a change in your life. Affirmations are powerful tools that can be used to create the changes that you desire.

Affirmations are meant to enhance your life, and they do that by creating more certainty, increasing your belief in yourself and others, and increasing your personal comfort level. They are insidious because they create a negative association with the opposite of their affirmation, which in turn makes it seem like the affirmation is not useful for you.
What are affirmations? They are statements that tell you that you are going to succeed, that you are beautiful, or that you are happy. They are used to make the negative associations to the opposite of those thoughts less powerful. The affirmation definition below was given by a friend who said:
